Una nota curiosa riguarderebbe oggi l’ammodernamento dell’equipaggio di difesa in dotazione alle forze dell’ordine che in questi giorni starebbero sperimentando, sistemi meno invasivi e letali per quanto riguarda l’arresto di eventuali criminali. In questo periodo la polizia starebbe testando delle particolari pistole a scariche elettriche, denominate Taser X2 a due colpi che funzionerebbero sparando sul malvivente i due dardi dai quali tramite appositi cavi scaricherebbero sulla persona degli impulsi elettrici provocando la caduta del malvivente e permettendo quindi all’agente di immobilizzarlo senza alcun problema, la pistola Taser X2 a puntamento laser avrebbe la possibilità di lanciare anche una scarica di avvertimento senza sparare alcun colpo. L’ innovativa arma sarebbe efficace fino alla distanza che va dai 3 ai 7 metri, una valida alternativa alla comune pistola pericolosa in caso di utilizzo anche per le persone che deambulano nella zona del crimine. L’arma avrebbe al suo interno due dardi quindi la possibilità di sparare due colpi a due soggetti diversi. Possiamo dire che questo sistema per noi innovativo sia già stato sperimentato negli USA dove in effetti già da tempo alcuni reparti della polizia degli Stati Uniti d’America utilizzerebbe tali sistemi, metodi che a quanto pare non tolgono la vita ma immobilizzano il soggetto temporaneamente. Nel nostro caso il malvivente subirà dopo la scarica elettrica una visita di accertamento per verificare che gli effetti della pistola siano regolari. Un secondo test lo starebbero facendo, sempre le forze dell’ordine, nell’utilizzo di manette alternative realizzate  di una speciale fascia di velcro, un materiale più forte dell’acciaio ma meno doloroso per il soggetto ammanettato. I test di questi apparecchi innovativi si starebbero già sperimentando nelle città di Milano, Brindisi, Caserta, Catania, Padova e Reggio Emilia.
