Nel nostro periodo storico si vive di mode e talvolta di assurdità. Possiamo confermare che la nostra epoca nonostante gli avanzamenti scientifici sia l’epoca del dubbio. Vi ricordate il pensiero tolemaico? quello che diede a Galileo, poliedrico scienziato ed artista italiano, filo da torcere con la chiesa cattolica medievale la quale lo mise anche in carcere se non erro dato che lo scienziato osò dichiarare dopo ricerche effettuate con i mezzi di allora, che la Terra era rotonda e girava intorno al sole, una scoperta davvero sensazionale per i tempi antichi, un po’ come l’ odierna scoperta del Bosone di Higgs se volessimo fare un paragone con i nostri giorni data la sensazionalità della cosa. Nonostante la scoperta venne in seguito provata, subito la chiesa dell’epoca “diede addosso” al povero Galileo dato che con la propria teoria della Terra rotonda che gira intorno al sole andava contro le teorie di Tolomeo, teorie che avrebbero riportato alle sacre scritture che sosterrebbero che il creato e quindi anche la Terra sia il centro dell’Universo, tuttavia la Bibbia possiamo dire che sia un libro storico, rivelatorio ma non proprio perfettamente scientifico. Nonostante tutto il povero Galileo ebbe qualche problemuccio da risolvere nei confronti dell’antica chiesa cattolica e rischiò anche di essere messo al rogo per eresia, tuttavia la sfericità del globo terrestre era già ipotizzata nel sesto secolo dai Greci ma tornando a noi, ai nostri tempi, dopo le missioni spaziali, dopo le fotografie della Terra dallo spazio, della volta celeste e dei pianeti maggiori vicini e lontani alla Terra ecco che compaiono persone che si rifarebbero al concetto “simil tolemaico”, un concetto arcaico e completamente errato date le scoperte odierne. Queste persone chiamate Terrapiattisti sostengono che la Terra sia piatta e non sferica e che il sole giri intorno alla Terra andando contro alle odierne prove scientifiche sostenendo pertanto che esse facciano parte di un complotto dei poteri forti a scopo di dominio. Secondo i membri di questo particolare gruppo la Terra avrebbe appunto la forma di un piatto ed in posizione centrale si troverebbe l’Artico, ai bordi si estenderebbe l’Antartide, ed il giorno e la notte sarebbero determinati dallo spostamento del sole intorno alla Terra, sopra il disco terrestre il sole illuminerebbe diverse zone del pianeta determinando il giorno e la notte nelle 24 ore. Per smontare la tesi tolemaica della Terra a forma di disco sarebbe sufficiente guardare una nave dirigersi verso il mare aperto per notare dopo una decina di chilometri uno strano effetto: vedremo la nave sparire piano piano fino al punto in cui sarà visibile solamente la sommità dell’albero  per poi svanire totalmente alla vista. Questo effetto determinerebbe il fatto che la Terra è assolutamente rotonda e non piatta come vorrebbero farci credere i Terrapiattisti. Praticamente l’effetto visivo della nave sarebbe dovuto appunto alla curvatura dovuta alla sfericità del globo. Che la Terra fosse sferica lo avevano già capito prima dello sfortunato Galileo Archimede, Pitagora, Aristotele ed Eratostene  che nel lontano 240 prima della nascita di Cristo, ai tempi della Grecia antica avevano stimato la circonferenza del pianeta Terra ma solo teoricamente. Più recentemente Magellano quando circumnavigò la Terra dimostrò la sfericità del pianeta. A dire il vero le teorie tolemaiche ogni tanto riemergono a varie riprese nella storia dell’umanità ma quanto lascia veramente perplessi è la grande sfiducia che oggi una parte della popolazione terrestre avrebbe negli scienziati in questo caso anche negli astronomi. A mia opinione i segreti nascosti a cui si desidererebbe dare una risposta sono davvero tanti oggi, e vanno dalla verità sull’esistenza degli extraterrestri, sugli avvistamenti di UFO, sui cerchi del grano alle presunte losche trame che gruppi protetti dalla segretezza e dal segreto di stato attuerebbero sull’ignara popolazione della Terra. Personalmente non dico che tutto si svolga nella più trasparente delle forme anzi, per quanto mi riguarda “fidarsi è bene ma non fidarsi è meglio” tuttavia su alcune teorie comprovate come la sfericità del globo terrestre e tutto quanto giri intorno a questi discorsi non ci sarebbe proprio nulla di sospetto anche se a sentire i Terrapiattisti su queste teorie si nasconderebbero come precedentemente accennato cospirazioni di vario genere. Oggi sembra che la moda della diffusione relativamente alle false verità sia lanciata al massimo, tutto viene divulgato ed accettato come potenziale verità e tutto messo in dubbio. Terra rotonda o Terra piatta quindi? Potremmo fare una prova ed arrivare con una nave fino ai bordi del piatto (nel caso fosse piatta) ma maglio stare attenti a frenare o cambiare direzione in prossimità del bordo perchè se così non fosse si potrebbe tranquillamente rischiare di cadere nello spazio.
